The backstory: There is legislation called the “Canada Heritage Act”—although it isn’t consistently applied across all books (some types of books, e.g., textbooks, books without pictures, etc. get treated differently than others) the long and short of it is that it basically prohibits The Wood Database from shipping books to Canada through Amazon.com.
Potential workarounds: Use a package holding/forwarding service like Kinek or Borderlinx.
The softcover edition of the book sells for the same $35 and is available internationally (including Canada.)
Keep in mind that this book does not feature the sewn signatures advertised for the hardcover book (and the cover is obviously soft instead of hard). But other than the physical configuration of the book, the actual content on the pages is identical: both are 272 pages, 8.5″ x 11″ page size, full color.
