    Only hardwoods have pores, so that would make sense.

    Also, the term “most porous” could mean a lot of things. If you mean the wood with the biggest pores, that would mean one thing. Or if it is a wood that simply has the highest quantity of pores, that’s another.

    I’m not familiar with South African woods, so I’d take your friend’s word for it. Looking at my sample of Witels, it appears to have very many small to medium-small pores. Hope that helps.

    Hi,
    I’m looking for the most porous South African wood that I can get.

    Can you please suggest anything suitable.

    Someone told me that the Witels is the most porous but I see its listed in the hardwoods catagory?
